Mods please move to ipod touch - I posted by accident here.
I am having trouble deciding what to do.
Out of guarantee 4th generation ipod touch - was not expensive enough a toy to buy apple care in my view. Classic home button stuck problem. Have tried to free using electrical cleaning solvent - but no joy - I am inclined to think something has snapped rather than stuck.
No problems using the device as I have activated the "on screen" home button from settings. If I could work out how to do a hard reset (other than a itunes factory reset) I would be totally happy.
It is a 32G model and I could get a new one for 50% of the true cost - not a bad deal.
Are there any pitfalls associated with the out of warranty repair I should be wary of?
