ok so i found this today, anyone who likes fort minor and has a mac should listen to his some "believe me" and then the garageband loop "orchestra strings 08" and tell me if it isn't a blatant ripoff?

well, the loops in garageband are royalty free, so this is perfectly legal.biohazard6969 said:

I noticed this a few weeks ago when I was in my friends car and the song came on his cd player. I immediately recognized it and showed him the loop and sure enough, its the same loop. But ya the loops are royalty free so they can use them as much as they want. I've also noticed GB loops on tv commercials. I can't tell you exactly which one but if you know GB as good as some of us do, you'll start to pick up on them.

I listened to a little bit of Fort Minor, and it sounded LIGHTYEARS better than Linkin Park. 
And yes, the loops in Garageband (and all the FreePlay music) are all royalty free, so it doesn't really matter if he used them or not, as this is pretty much what they're intended for.

my friend's a dj and he told me about this when the cd was released. apparently he had been using that beat for some time for his mixes.
I know Linkin Park were big Mac users so I wouldn't be surprised if they did use the same clip from Garage band...but I would wonder why since Mike can afford Logic.
