My client wants a forum within an iPhone App but doesn't have a forum on his server. I assumed he wanted an App that tapped into an existing forum, but it seems he wants me to create one within the App. What the ...?

Renting a dedicated server and setting up a forum on that, which I can later tap into with an App, is an ongoing relatively expensive cost to the client. It would be more practical if he set up a forum on the server he has for his website, and having the forum on his website too!

Is there something I don't know about iCloud or something?

iCloud doesn't have anything that will help you.

I agree that setting up a forum on his servers is the best option.

However, you might be able to get away with having a forum set up here...

http://www.zetaboards.com/

It's free for non-commercial purposes... although I personally am confused by what the term "non-commercial" means...

Edit: Actually, looking through the rules, it looks like if you pay for ad-removal, they'll allow you to waive many of their rules against commercialism.

If they have a website, you could go put phpBB on it, and then use the guides from Tapatalk to add that functionality to the app.
