It's really sluggish for me to, but I just assumed it's a temporary slow down due to the high traffic surrounding macworld.

is it just me or are the forums very sluggish? i ran a ping and a traceroute and everything seems fine on that end.

just wondering. could be a ton a traffic for macworld?
As of 5:00 EST. That's a lot!

I'd noticed it was rather sluggish as well, these last 2 days mostly. Thought it was just my internet connection messing up (as you do).

I'll be surprised if the site loads at all tomorrow at this rate.

I've noticed this too, it started this morning. Probably the high traffic from members and guests searching because of MacWorld.

There are 6,500 people online at the moment, which is higher than we had immediately after the keynote last year, so the forums might be a bit slower than usual but they should still be reasonably quick. There was a specific issue about an hour ago that was fixed however.

The site is being dog slow for me too. Once it starts to load it's fine but there is a delay on clicking any link or post of up to 45/60 seconds for me.

Dreading what it will be like tomorrow, but will contributors get preferential treatment if its haywire ?

Just an FYI...the database errors that happened for a few minutes ago were because Knox took server down to try to debug things. Things are much better now...hopefully we'll keep running full steam ahead.
