Periodically I will get a message sent to me through macrumors that I don't notice is in my inbox for several weeks. Is there a way to have those messages forwarded to an email account (such as gmail) or some notification that I have a message?

I come to the page every so often but rarely log in. I can simply check the message box more often, but if there is an easy notification process I would prefer that.

Any ideas?

Go to "User CP" (top left navigation), then on the left go to "Edit Options" and then scroll down to where there's a check box for this feature, "The forum can send a message to your email address to inform you when someone sends you a private message."

What the checkbox looks like (click to see it fullsize):

I found it and checked the box.

Thank you VERY much. This will be very helpful.
