PLease help..I have created a large slideshow in FM (alsaka trip of 19 family members) and I need to get the result into a DVD that most can play....or BR for those with better equipment. I understand the degradation that happens going to DVD and even to BR...so standalone mac/pc or otherwise is out for most.

My issue is to achieve the highest quality possible for the output... I am not a pro but have some basics and the lacking manuals hinder figuring this out....
Current workflow is to edit in FM and then create an export (share) to either HD or QT. I have tried both HD presets (1080p/720p) and they are ok - but not great. I then save the file. Open iDVD and drag the file in. Using the HD presets from FM - and having the settings in iDVD at pro quality etc - this results in a okay dvd burn.

I have tried QT using the FM advised 854*480 and apple lossless and that is worse than the HD from FM - even though it appears to be going through less compression and cycles. The presets in QT for 720p/1080p do not appear to render video that iDVD can see.

So....what are the best settings to use for the above workflows for QT? I am awaiting Toast pro 10 which will be here MOn. Am I better off using Toast than iDVD for the burn. (i dont really care whether I have fancy menus etc)...I assume I will have to use toast to create a BR version. I am not familiar with that workflow.

Does anyone know the workflow and subsequent settings for BR if you go FM>qt?>Toast>BR burn? (This would be to a DVD-DL).
Thanks for any help....There is very little on the internet and even less on the FM site to help out!
