I dug through my file cabinet and found my old HTC One phone from 2014. I measured it and its the same width as the 12 mini, and just a few millimeters taller. Difference of course being that this phone has big bezels, the 12 mini will have a bigger screen.

It feels so right in my hand!

I love this phone! I had it for a month or so but the departure from the iOS ecosystem was too much so I went back. It was a great phone and size. Back then it felt so big but I guess that was pre big size phones

Yeah, this was before I moved into the Apple ecosystem- but I did love the phone at the time- and like you said, the phone seemed huge to me at the time.

Honestly I still have never wanted a phone any bigger than that... my 11 just seems huge.

Hello small hands.. 🤣 It hurt me to use small iPhones back in the day. Like a giraffe walking on small rocks.

That’s the one mini isn’t it? I had the HTC one for work and it was massive!

HTC One M7: 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3 mm
iPhone 12 Mini: 131.5 x 64.2 x 7.4 mm
iPhone 12 Pro: 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.4 mm

HTC is 6mm taller and 4mm wider than the 12 Mini. That’s not an insignificant amount of size when phones are generally so small to begin with, but we’ve become accustomed to much larger phones. The original Galaxy Note had a 5.3” display. The iPhone Mini is 5.4”.

For fun, let’s see the original Galaxy Note vs. the iPhone 12 Pro:

Galaxy Note: 146.9 x 83 x 9.7 mm
iPhone 12 Pro: 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.4 mm

I remember looking at the Note like it was the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen while I was rocking an iPhone 4.

Wow that’s a shock. I had a note for work too and it was huge at the time, I think that’s where the term phablet originated from. Seems tiny now then!

Yes, totally agree. I always wanted a full screen with the light feeling of the 6/6s/7. When I first got the x I actually returned it because of the weight vs. the 7, but after a few weeks went back to the x for the screen. But again, I think the mini with 5.4 screen and only 135gr weight should be amazing.
