I found a guys iPhone and want to give it back, but i can't figure out how to find out his information.

Is there some way to crack the passcode and find out a little more info about this guy or anyone have a better idea?

Wait till the phone rings and answer it. Tell them you found the iphone and you're willing to return it.
You dont need to crack the passcode to do that. And you cant anyway.

If you really have found an iPhone, do as has already been suggested - take it back and hand it in where you found it. It's the first place the person who lost it is going to enquire.

That is one feature that I really liked on my old BlackBerry, that it displayed some contact information if/when lost.

If it's a 3GS you can try holding the home button and voice dialing "home" or "mom" to see if you can contact someone that way

These are both good pieces of advice and are worth repeating.

Do the right thing.:)

Add ICE and IF found to your wallpaper.

This won't help you, but for other iPhone users out there you should edit your iphone wallpaper and put an ICE and If found number on it. This is visible on the lock screen so someone can call you if they find it or the the ICE number in case of emergency. I edited mine using a paint program to add the numbers. then just synced it over using iTunes. I think there is an app that will add the numbers to your wall paper from the iphone.

So Apple spends a considerable amount of time trying to break JBing, but hasn't really offered any solution to helping owners reconnect with the lost or stolen iPhones. Surely it isn't that hard to match iPhone to their owners.

In any case, I suggest the OP turn the phone in. It's the only honest thing to do.

Hmmm... just noticed the Apple smilie been replaced with this: :apple: Have a good 1 April.
