Four finger swipe 10.5.7

Has anyone successfully reconfigured their Penryn MBP to use the four finger gestures after 10.5.7 restored the "correct" kext file? I really miss those four finger swipes but don't wanna mess around with my laptop right now as I NEED it for finals!! Thanks for your help!

I'm subscribing to this thread. I was hoping that the hack would stick but no such luck. It was too much to hope for that Apple would just give us this functionality! Why wouldn't they? Sigh. Anyways I hear that the 10.5.6 .kext doesn't take on this update and that the 10.5.7 .kext actually breaks trackpad. I'll keep my eyes peeled and update this thread if I figure it out.

The old method of swapping out the kext for 10.5.6 worked just great for me in 10.5.7 Enjoy! The exact process I used is found here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/617645/

Although there were some false alarms of breaking the trackpad with the 10.5.6 kext, I'm happy to confirm and agree with the previous posters that it works great. Glad to see that we all have our four-finger multitouch back. Here's hoping that we'll all be able to restore it after Snow Leopard too!

Four finger swipes are working fine for me on a 4,1 after switching the old kext back in.
