There's also one I saw today where a girl was showing her boyfriend her new haircut. At first I didn't think it was an iPhone commercial. I mean, yea, it has the iPhone 4 and the real FaceTime client, but the content seemed off for an Apple commercial. I can see they are going for a realistic, this is what will happen when FaceTime is used approach, but it kinda caught me off guard.

I thought the same thing at first. I thought it was gonna be some ad for an app.

I like the whole realistic aspect to it, but I feel FaceTime will really take off when its not limited to Wifi and then well see more FaceTime commercials of people out and about!

Same here.

PS: She looks like a boy.

Here's my problem with all of these commercials...how are they holding their iPhones for the angles to be so right? I mean, everytime I've tried facetime, I'm looking up someone's nostrils.

Yea you have to hold it out pretty far to get that view. Not really comfortable.

Look how they are holding the phones!!!

They aren't holding it the right way... how can Steve let these go out?! That's not how Steve wants us holding the phones!!! :D

I guess that the iPhone 4 ads are going to revolve around FaceTime. It's not necessarily bad, but there's a lot more to this phone than video chat.

I'm loving the new ads. I also feel they are much more "raw" than the original.

Think they played this well, but let's be serious...no one can hold their phone that still. Just like all the previous iPhone ads, I wonder if they're shooting them using a stand mounted to a "fake" hand/arm.

And yes, this approach will be much more effective once facetime is available over 3G (no time soon), and/or your friends and family also have iP4s. Mine won't anytime soon either. :(

I like how at the end they're now advertising at&t, the nations largest wifi network. Plus they're holding wrong, but I guess it doesn't matter with facetime.:p

Might wanna get out more often maybe, meet more people, see some variety, who knows. :)

I think she's pretty damned cute myself... in a most definitely female way.

+1 ...Cute, feminine, and Ellen Page-ish! (in Hard Candy, a great film)

To the "looks like a boy" poster...what, are you stuck in the early 20th century?? Women can have short hair and still be effeminate. My guess though, you're just a kid that knows little about real women. But like you, I'm entitled to my opinion. ;)

I like all of the commercials except the pregnancy one. Unless one of you is away for weeks, why not wait until he's in the same damn room?

Other than that, I think they're good commercials.

And yes, that haircut is cute on her.

The one with the grandpa is just amazing. I love this ad. And the end with the iPhone logo... Just brilliant!

To me the haircut, smile, and big news ads are mediocre.

The meet her ad is incredible though, that's the kind of ad that will make ANYONE want an iPhone 4. Hell, I got choked up a bit watching it.

I think that the pregnancy ad really is a subtle innuendo as to other "possibilities..."

Read between the lines. Notice how she asks if he's alone and she sorta looks as if she's about to "show" him something. Just saying, this will be something already crossing the minds of young couples (heck, maybe older couples). Apple is just gently nudging the viewer about the potential for Facetime. Clever, if you ask me.

Remember how someone posted here not long ago regarding phone-sex/porn companies wanting to take advantage of Facetime? Watch out world... :D

Definitely loved the one with the grandpa meeting his new granddaughter. Wow. I, I think I'm going to be alright?

Haircut one was wurd.
