I find this interesting and relevant to older Macs:


If we now see the manufacture of ridiculously inexpensive FPGA boards for the Amiga that increase prefromance of a stock CPU by a factor of 155X and add modern expansion facilities, it's not unthinkable that we might see the same for PPC at some point.

EDIT: Of course, one of these systems also gives you fully emulated OS 8.1 with a 68060 running at 80Mhz!

I don't think we will see anything like this for PPC just yet (not for a while anyways), There are a few applications this idea is used to replicate 68k macs; which in my opinion at least is still pretty neat.
