Framegrab/Snapshot a DVDimage to JPG !!??

Hey everybody, I need some help - and I am going NUTS!

I need to capture a whole bunch of stills from a DVD, and I need the output file to be JPG...

VLC has the "snapshot"-function, it works really well. As default, though, it captures the files as PNG. When I go to the preferences, and change it to JPG - it STILL saves the files as PNG...

anyone know how to fix this? OR, anyone who knows of a good player/framegraber, that can save the images as JPGs....

Just open the PNG with an image editor (think even Preview will do it) and save it as a JPG.

I was hoping to find a way without converting all the files ... Its gonna be several hundreds files, so its gonna take ages. Would be easier if I could grab as jpg...
