A death is sad, but also a beginning of a new life. May Fred Dibnah rest in peace. Glad to note that he died in a Hospice with family and friends at his side. He had the opportunity to die in comfort and with dignity. My prayers go out to his family and friends. :(

You've got to admire the fact that he was trying to build a replica mineshaft in his back garden! How cool is that.

Fred's Passing

I have watched Fred on TV for most of my life. He was a unique individual. Irascible, infuriating to those he spent his life with but from a generation and mindset sorely missing in todays society.
His depth of knowledge and enthusiasm for real engineering was unparalelled. The loss of his knowledge is to the detrement of us all.

I'll miss his point of views.
