Hey Everyone,

I'm looking for a free alternative to clipwrap or other p2p software that can convert .mts or .m2ts files with the Apple Intermediate Codec. The reason being I have a camera that I'm trying to grab footage off of but the Log/Transfer option within FCE isn't recognizing my SD Slot clips as convertible.

I'm assuming one exists out there because clipwrap's FAQ alludes to them existing. I don't need anything with bells and whistles or any other formats except for .mts/.m2ts --> AIC (.mov)

Thanks!

You could use Handbrake to make an .mp4 file (with the best compression settings you can figure out), then use MPEG Streamclip to transcode the resulting .mp4 into an AIC encoded .mov.
MPEG Streamclip doesn't take .mts files though, or at least my latest version doesn't accept the sample I downloaded.
