I've seen apps such as AppZapper and CleanApp that are useful for removing OSX apps and all their files, but they all have a paid version which makes me think there will be limitations on the free version.

Could anybody recommend a good (and free) app remover that will delete apps as well as any other files that are associated with them?
 
In most cases, app removal software like all those mentioned in this thread doesn't do a thorough job of finding and removing files/folders related to deleted apps. For more information, read this.
