Free backup software for mac

Hello,
I have a couple of folders that I want to backup. I tried timemachine but it tries to backup my entire harddrive. I don't have an external hard disk of that size. I tried removing all the folders I don't want backed up but still time machine doesn't find enough space. Is there any free backup software for mac that will let me backup a couple of folders to an external hard drive. I tried CrashPlan, Integro, SyncAny but nothing works and everyone tries to get you to upgrade to Pro

I found CarbonCopyCloner years ago and have never used Time Machine because of all the features that CCC has that Apple is incapable of imagining . . . (while not allowing you control of your own machine)
