Hello everyone,

Since updating to macOS Ventura I realized that the status options when creating a new event in my calendar (namely Free/Busy/...) are not available anymore. This is for my iCloud calendar as well as for my O365 accounts. On my iPhone, iOS 16.1, I still have the option, EXCEPT on my iCloud account once again. If I create a new calendar on my iCloud account, the option is back.

I searched and I found many posts a the apple communities forums about this issue, but some posts are sometimes couple of years old ! Seems to be an old bug happening I do not know why and how, and nobody ever post a solution.

Do you experience this problem ? Have you found a workaround ? Thanks !

Interesting. I have a few 5+ year old calendars and don’t ever recall seeing the “Show as” option. However, I had created an iCloud calendar about a couple of years ago (on my iPhone, I believe) and I do see that for new events

If I move the event from an old calendar to a new calendar, I do see the Show as option become available so it seems like a calendar level capability rather than something tied an app (other than perhaps the creation of that calendar)

I checked the calendar settings on iPhone and don’t see any differences between those that have the status and those that don’t. Perhaps there’s something more robust on either macOS or iCloud.com.

Same here. I see it on my iPhone running iOS 16.1, but not on my newly upgraded Macbook running macOS 13.0.1

I don't know if I had the issue on Monterey. Today was the first time I added an appointment as a reminder that something was going on at a certain time, even though it doesn't involve me ( so the time should be "free" ).

I found a solution :
for the exchange accounts just go into internet accounts in settings and suppress and re-add them, and the option is back.

The only one that I could not fix is the iCloud Calendar, even when creating a ne one, works on mi iPad and iPhone but not on my Mac.

do you mean uncheck the "enable account" box and then re-check? Or do you mean delete the account and re-enterin it?
