I have been given a macbook pro A1260.

I just pay shipping £9.99.

It powers on and gets the chime but no video.

This will be the famous GPU fault known with these models.

Is it worth paying for the newer GPU chip to be fitted (about £165)

Im not sure it is due to its age.

Maybe it better to sell on ebay or strip and sell parts off on ebay.

It should arrive mid next week.

Well it is really dead and turned out to be a A1211 model not 1260 as was told.

But as it was a 1211 was able to steal parts to fix and other 1211 I had that had issues.
