I recently purchased an epson r2880 to use on some small graphics projects, so far the raster image quality is fantastic, but I'm a little bit disappointed with the vector qaulity. I've done a bit of research and it seems like a software RIP could help with this, but most (ImagePrint 8, Efi ColorProof etc) are completely out of my price range and do many things I'm not all too fussed about like image nesting, proofing, colour adjustment etc. As I'm only looking to increase the quality of vector image reproduction I'm looking for either a free open source rip or something simple and not too expensive.

I am running 10.6.8 on my iMac and 10.7.2 on my MBP, the iMac also has windows 7 installed on a partition

Any tips?

Cheers

Andy

Thanks MisterMe, thats one is a little more in my price range. Do you have any experience using it? Its always hard to tell completely what its like from the demo.

I don't quite understand your comment. You will not find a better RIP for less money. There is no better test than to download the demo and put it through its paces.
