Hello:
I have done some iPad transfers, between an older iPad2 to a newer iPad3, using the iTunes backup/restore features.
It seems that somewhere in this process, I messed up iBooks....free ebooks that my wife has accumulated over the last 2 years are gone. I do have an backup on my Mac, but I cannot get to those books. Here is what I tried to do:
- attached iPad to Mac
- manually restored the relevant backup from iTunes
- when the iPad restarts after the restore, disconnect the USB cable from Mac
- having my WIFI router powered off, so the iPad cannot reach iCloud, or any other server
- open iBook on the iPad. The free books are there, but only for some 5-6 seconds. Then they disappear.
I tried several apps to get the ebooks from the backup on the Mac, but while see calendar entries, camera rolls etc., I do not see books. One such app is the iPubsoft iPad iPod iPhone Data Recovery.
Thanks for any help/pointers. We'd rather not have to go and hunt on the WEB for those 50 or so ebooks again.
Paul.
