Hi all,

another basic question.

I'm wondering if Yahoo or Hotmail do free email to the desktop, and what server names I key in etc... or are all free email services basically webmail (and strewn with p3n1s enlargement adds to boot?)

I use Google Gmail, which does offer free POP3 servers to download my mail using Apple Mail.

Yahoo offers POP access, but for $20/year.

LOL! :D

I just thought about that!

At first I went through our webhosting account for our design studio, but my wife freaked out and thought better of having any of my eccentric peak oil "Eclipse" stuff associated with our graphic design business.

Then I went straight to OPTUS Australia and checked out our optus accounts... and of course, it allows us to have 5 accounts.

So I activated eclipse-now as an Optusnet account, fed that new email into various forums online, and your reply just pinged into my new email address, straight to my desktop the way it is meant to.

Cheers — all solved.
