Free Flash animation alternative

I tried Flash and found it good, but too expensive as I'm not going to be using actionscript and any other advanced flash thing that's in it. I also tried Pivot stick figure animator (on DarWine) but found it too limited as everything must be made of stick figures. Any suggestions are appreciated. thanks

try stykz. it like pivot but for mac (and you dont have to use darwine). and it has more features(oh and you can put pivot .stk files in it too).
