I'm a recent switcher (bought a MacBook ~2 weeks ago) and I am looking for a free image editor that would support my Wacom Bluetooth tablet correctly. Gimp is very nice for my needs in Windows, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to support pressure sensitivity in OS X. Something to do with X11, I've heard. I mostly use Gimp for drawing and creating textures. One tool I really like in Gimp is the ink pen. Photoshop would be the obvious choice, but it's a little bit too expensive.
Anyways, I've tried Seashore and even though pressure sensitivity worked quite nicely, the overall features were quite lacking. For one, I couldn't use the pressure to control the size of the tool, only the opacity.
The second application that I decided to try was ArtRage 2. I have bought the full version for my PC and it is quite nice, even though I do prefer Gimp in most occasions, ArtRage lacks some tools, like the Ink pen. I tried the free version and it worked quite nicely, but the lack of universal binary version made it a little sluggish in some cases. I'll most likely try to transfer my PC licence to Mac, or buy it again, and wait for a UB. It should fill my needs temporarily, but I still feel I need something else.
So that's it, I'm looking for a free, or cheap, gimp-like app that supports pressure sensitivity and has a decent array of features. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
