So, im making the switch from my trusty old sidekick to an iPhone. Placed my order on the phone with AT&T monday morning. Rep, waived my activation fee, and i had a $0 deposit for my "good credit" which, i dont even really have any.

They charged me $251.17 for my iPhone. It sat in the "pending" state on my bank statement. Checked my account today, to see if i got my direct deposit early from my job, (pay periods are the 5th & 20th) and what do you know, the $251.17 has been dropped from pending, and is back into my account.

Check the order status for my phone, its out this morning for delivery. Call up my bank, they say call the merchant, to make sure they've recieved their funds. Thats just what i do, and they say they have a status of "Paid" and they dont send out phones, especially iPhone w/o payment.

Looks like there system had it pending too long, and registered it as paid, then my bank dropped it off my charges and put it back in my account. I stressed to at&t to make sure i wouldnt be charged later down the line for the phone, and they assured me everything is good over on their billing side.

Im going to let it sit for a while though before i touch it, just to be on the safe side.

Don't worry, they'll get it. Happens like this sometimes but they always manage to yank out the funds.

I figured that, thats why im going to leave it alone, even thought they claim, its all taken care of. i guess only time will tell.

Yea don't get too excited. It'll be back out by Monday.

:D

Yeah. They won't forget to take your money :p

I reckon you would get a few people who would think they made a mistake and spend it only for it to be taken out a week later.

I thought the same thing. Maybe they won't notice! LOL! Sure enough a week later the funds came out. Damn commerce! :D
