I've heard that Apple has a history of offering a free iPod with Mac purchase around graduation? What are the details and any idea if it will happen in 2007?

They've done something of that sort for the past few years now, so it's a reasonable bet they'll do it again. Haven't heard any specifics yet though. Here is the MacRumors article on last year's promo...it ran from June 5th to September 16th in the US. Several other countries had similar promos that ran in different timeframes.
Well I went up to my local university bookstore and they were offering a free 2gb ipod nano and printer with the purchase of a new macbook. They had some good deals going on because its the end of the school year. They also had FCS for $399 which is pretty good even though FCS2 is coming out.
