Hi,

I've seen this question asked, but there wasn't a definite answer. I'm a student in a European country, and will be visiting the US in September. Can I get a free iPod (i.e. a $199 rebate) with a Mac purchase? Is my passport and student ID enough to prove I'm a student? The ID isn't in English.

I must've spent half an hour trying to find an email address on Apple's site, so I can get an answer directly from them, but couldn't find a single relevant one, only phone numbers.

Thanks!

The rebate is mailed to you, and I don't believe they'll allow you to enter an address outside the US for the delivery address. Unless you also have an American address where it can be mailed this probably won't work.

Does it have to be my address? I have some local friends who would be willing to take my rebate check.

yes as long as its a US address and you meet all their requirements (student ID card in-store) and correctly fill out all the rebates.
