I would like to set permission on a pdf file I created, for exemple allow to print but disallow editing and copying.

The purpose is that I wrote an e-book that I will distribute for free but I want to prevent people from stealing my work and changing the links etc...

Any suggestions of a free or cheap software I could use to do that?

Thanks in advance

I don't think you can disallow copying of a pdf file. Until the file is opened, it is just any file which can be copied as long as you have read access.

Adobe software can lock the file so it can't be changed; it's common for manuals and such. You really need to consider the protected e-book format if you're trying to restrict distribution.
