Can anyone recommend a site or podcast that offers free courses for DSLR photography for a beginner like me? Preferably with videos? Please advise. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

froknowsphoto.com
dpreview.com
photographylife.com
Photoventure.com
Creativelive.com

All of these have interesting articles and videos. Creative live does free streaming (check online for schedules).

Also look up the exposure triangle and your own camera on you tube. Lots of good stuff on there.

Does it really have to be free? If you can afford to pay a little you get MUCH better material. Lynda.com has literally hundreds of 3 to 8 hour long course on photography. Much of it ia how to use some software but they have some basic photo courses too. They charge $25 per month for "all you can watch" It is worth the price of you can watch several days per week. They let you see the previews for free so you can decide.

Many universities and some companies off Lynda.com subscriptions free. I have a free one and I've been watching the series on video editing. The company has good instructors and high production values. It's not your basic youtube video.

The series has 37 hours of video instruction for beginners.
