We can only guess what is going to follow the current model of PowerMacs.

As for why they may be offered on the Powerbook, I would think that because the prices are rather high compared to the medium prices of the Rev. B models people would not want to buy a high speed Powerbook. So extra add-ons are included in your purchase, probably to make consumers think that they will get more out of their money's worth.

I also noticed that there are rebates on the Apple iPod. Now you can get a 10GB for $400 with a rebate offer. I don't think that it is for anything major, but I do like to see lowered prices on Apple products that are kind of expensive compared to other similar products.

Again, there is a lot of speculation as to what will be hosted in the new PowerMacs. But most likely there will be no G5s.

hey, sorry.. but whyis this a hardware rumor? :p

it's a hardware rumor because it sounds like we're about to receive word of something....NEW...

Apple's strategy now is to clear out old hardware right before announcing something new...usually by promoting a freebie or with price drops...

we've already seen price drops take effect...and now they are giving away free stuff with purchases to gain interest...

I think we're going to see new PowerMacs soon...

just my take on it anyway...;)
