This works in the UK, I haven't tried on other stores because...well...I live in the UK and all.

So anyway after the not so amazing (but fairly fun :) ) products today I thought I'd cheer you all up with an insane deal to get free songs.

Simply visit ShopFar and register with an email address and enter the promotional code of SNAPFAX during registration for 10 free songs or MOTORCYCLETUNES for 12. The site seems to be fairly random as to whether you get the songs instantly (the codes pop up under "my account") or whether it makes you wait about a day. Anyway I've signed up with 4 email addresses and now have 40 free songs floating around in iTunes! :D

Yes I'm sure it says not to sign up with lots of email addresses...but FREE SONGS!

Anyway - have fun!

Darn!

Damnit you British people (no, not really)!

It only works for the UK store (yeah...I figured that, but I was still hoping).

what you could do is at the bottom of itunes switch to to UK store and see if the song you want is in there and if it is sign up for an account on the UK store and get the credits there

Thanks for this!
Signed up and got 10 songs instantly - I cleared my cookies and signed up with a couple more email addresses, but they're making me wait for those.

I'm pretty sure you can open an iTMS account in a different country if you have a gift code.

something i discovered while surfing shopfar.com heres a quote from there FAQ

Q17. Can I transfer song credit to someone else's account?
This service will be available soon. You will be able to transfer song credit to another Shopfar user, as long as you have redeemable song credit on your Shopfar account. All you will need is the email address of the other Shopfar user in order to transfer song credit to his or her account.

so that means that you get the credits on the UK site and then when that becomes avalible, you can transfer them to a US account for US in the US itunes store

Too bad doesn't work in US Store and US accounts don't work in the UK store...
just use the code to create an UK account without credit card

I tried, but to no avail... so, who wants my 10 codes?:D

Edit: Got it!:D

Edit 2: Nice, I just download the entire Journey album!:)

Edit 3: Darn, it's not giving me anymore promotion codes with my other email addresses.:(

Thanks :D

I wasnt too sure of a valid UK address, so after some googling, I found a random government address and used that. Hope they don't mind receiving junk mail addressed to Bloody Wanker :D

Umm me too!

hi im just wondering if it could work in asian countries like here in Philippines????

That's great - thanks for posting that. Not often us UKers get a freebie.
I always get jealous reading the free iTunes thread and seeing all the stuff that's US only:)

This is great, thanks to the OP for the heads up:)

I'm a BT Broadband customer too so haven't had to actually pay for any music from iTunes for a while, just been using free credits.

So far I've got about 60 from BT and 10 from this promo. And there's another week or so of BT credits left :) I would have got more from BT but I'm forgetful ;) Need to set an alarm to remind me at 8.55am every morning or something like that.

Why are you so hyped out about free songs for?

Dammit... all the promotional codes are gone already... 300,000 gone to over 2,900 members, so they say.

Too late in the day I guess. Bummer.

just a quick heads up, though the songs are gone - simply going to the home url (or changing /uk to /us) changed to the US version of the store, wich presumably was also giving away free tunes...
