Free space issue in partitions

Hi,

I have some trouble with Partitioning my HD, coming from 2 partitions (both where about 1TB) I would like to get the free space back. It won't resize so the space remains empty. I already tried repairing permissions.
As far is I know Mac OSX 10.6 should be able to do non destructive partitioning.

What to do?

I'm assuming that the HD you're talking about is the one with your OS on it?
