Hey I was wondering if there is an Iphone app that allows you to text for free.
I know you can do that with AIM, but it doesn't work in my country so i was wondering if there is an app that allows you to text for free in an country..
Please enlighten me~

if you can afford apple products you should be able to afford an unlimited bundle...

There are a bunch of apps that can text for free. The way it occurs is that your text is routed through your email, through the internet, and then into the recipient's SMS app. However, the recipient cannot reply back to your SMS using this method. And if they were able to, if your carrier charges for receiving texts (like AT&T does), then you'll have to pay there.

I suggest touchTXT from AOL. It's a free app and allows people to text you back in the same application. It would be greatly improved by the use of push notifications, but we have to wait on Apple for those.

you can send text messages with email. just send a message to 10digitnumber@teleflip.com. so if my friends cellphone number was 555-444-3333 then i could send an email to 5554443333@teleflip.com and it will get sent to their phone as a text message. if they reply to the message then it gets sent to your email.

A quick Google turned out the Wikipedia article where it says: "As of September 6, 2008 the official Teleflip website was non-functional and SMS message delivery failed."

Textfree Lite allows you to send 16 free msgs per day. It does use ads. Full version removes the ad.

textfree by ping or pingfree or something like that

there is a free app that is limited to 15 SMS per day, $7 for the SMS and $6 for the MMS apps

doesn't work in Canada. None of these apps do as far as I can tell.
Are there any that work here?
