Free three year warranty through HE - does this apply to refurbs? (UK)

Hi all,

Given the low prices of refurbs at the moment, I'm looking at getting a MBP. I've heard that when purchasing a brand new MBP through the Higher Education store in the UK you receive a free three year hardware warranty (although not telephone support, as with AppleCare) -- does anyone know whether this is correct, and whether it also applies to refurbs?

Only on brand new machines.

Though you can get Apple Care for only 50 pounds through HE, as opposed to 279.99 pounds standard.
