iPod touch Free upgrade from 1.x??

Now I'm confused. I had a 1.1.4 ipod touch which I just upgraded to 2.1 (free upgrade) but it included all the features of 2.0! (paid upgrade)

I thought they were going to hold off on all the 2.0 features for all the people who didn't pay the $10 upgrade... but the new firmware includes everything from all previous versions and I didn't pay a dime for it.


Is apple really charging MORE for a firmware version that gives you LESS? or am I missing something...

Well I was under the impression 1.x to 2.x would be a paid upgrade...

Are you sure you didn't get charged? The upgrade to 2.1 for the iPod costs $9.95 if you are going from 1.x firmware, its only free if you go from 2.0 to 2.1.

Better check your iTunes bill and make sure you didn't get charged.

Please check your Purchase History.... you've paid $9.95 for the upgrade....
or you already had the 2.0 firmware

just checked my purchase history like you said.... says "free" and my balance is $0.00...

This is great... I'm glad I held off on upgrading

I knew they couldn't keep charging to upgrade forever
