Okay heres the deal... if i upload a song or video to my yahoo geocities account.. and use a diff service to grab the file via the geocities server it doesn't work b/c yahoo won't let you do that... are there any free webhosts that will let me hosts files and stuff? i only need about 10 or so megs..

I can't think of any specific companies off the top of my head but most ISP's provide their users with free webspace, ussually around 10mb actually.
So my advice would be call up your ISP and ask them.
