I wonder how much money Comcast would make if they set up a contract with domestic companies that provide Internet service to airplanes so Xfinity customers could use the in-flight WiFi hotspot for free. That might entice people to subscribe to the Xfinity Internet service or, if they did subscribe, keep their subscriptions.

I pay enough to fly. I don't need them to pass any other costs on to me. Don't kid yourself, it would never cost you nothing.

And here you are wondering how much more money Comcast could suck out of you?

Hmmm this will not likely happen. You expect airlines to choose one carrier that will only be available to those who have Comcast? You block out a good portion of the U.S. that way.

I think a good system would be to have an agreement much in the way that many online websites have with cable providers. They show their list of supported providers (meaning the ones they have agreements with) and you log in with them. If your provider doesn't have an agreement just pay the Gogo rate and start surfing.
