Freeagent 500gb HD stopped working.

I use a Freeagent 500gb HD with my mac and have a lot of my files on it. I have a lot of the files on it backed up however I also have a number of files that aren't backed up on it. I plugged it in the other day and nothing happened, the light didnt come on or anything. The plug is fine and i tried using another adaptor but still nothing. Is there anyway I can get the files off the HD even though its not connecting to the mains power supply?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The controller may be toast, but the physical drive may be fine. Happened to me similarly. Get an enclosure of the right type (I think that's a 3.5" IDE, double-check, though), and relocate the drive from the FreeAgent to the new enclosure. Should be fine.
