I purchased a 500GB Seagate FreeAgent Go with the dock a while back. I have been attaching the hard drive to my MacBook using the included FW 800 to FW400 cable, but I wanted to use the dock, so I ordered an adapter from PI Manufacturing. The adapter accepts the FW800 male and converts it to a FW400 male. However, when I connect the dock to my MacBook using the adapter, the hard drive does not mount. The adapter says it supports "bilingual" data. Can anyone explain why this does not work and if there is a solution?
