Perhaps old news, but..

I missed the boat back in CS4/5 days when you could use Illustrator to import Freehand 9/10x files and save as .ai Let's just say I refused to buy iLLustrator or even steal it. I kept a legacy Mac set up for Freehand for years, but never got around to saving or exporting years of drawings for my eventual move to Adobe (which I resisted for a long time) The old machine is gone and I gave up, but discovered an adobe page where you can grab installers/dmg of all the old stuff. I'm running a trial for my task, but it looks like anything can be serialized. Might be useful for people who lost old DVD installers.

After installing ill cs5 on one of my clone drives (just in case it hosed) I had to run a Java installer before it would open, but it works. I can now collect years of Freehand work and save it. Open file switches to import and offers a number of options for fonts, color, etc. (95% of what I had in some of the complex files is there and still useable in the CC version on illustrator.

Happy Camper - Link on the page for the other CS suites 3/4/5.5/6
