Freeze at apple screen after 8gb ram???

Hey guys, I'm sorry if you have a million questions like this but i have a MBP mid 2010 and I'm trying to install 2x 4gb ram sticks, I've tried corsair, kingston and Adata and all of them freeze at the same point (white boot screen with apple logo, the loading wheel symbol thing spins then just stops and won't go any further), I'm currently running my MBP with one 2gb stick and one kingston 4gb stick and that works great but i really wanted 8gb, any ideas why its doing this?

Have you tried resetting your PRAM after installing the 8GB on your first bootup?
