I've had these 2 problems on 2 laptops and can't figure out why it happens.

1. The computer will just freeze out of nowhere. Mouse is still able to move but all open apps including Finder will be non-responsive. I have Synergy running, and I'm still able to switch to another screen. But I'm unable to close or open apps. I'll do a hard reset and the boot up will stall. Reboot again, and all is fine. This has happened on both my black macbook and 2010 MBP on all operating systems. Is this just something that happens, like the BSOD?

2. Also, whenever I do my monthly maintenance, I use disk utility to repair permissions and this ALWAYS comes up. Since 2006 on all operating systems. I'm sure it's not a big problem, but is this another common thing?

Group differs on “Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist”; should be 80; group is 0.Permissions differ on “Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist”; should be -rw-rw-rw- ; they are -rw-r--r-- .Repaired “Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist”
