I am finally upgrading my p.o.s. 2020 13" heatpad.

If you're traveling for work often, it means:
1) No external monitor for extended periods of time (ie 1 week)
2) Sometimes use the laptop on awkward surfaces and angles
3) Sometimes need to carry the laptops using briefcases, without a shoulder strap.

Which would you go for?
Any suggestions from actual traveling with 16" vs 14"?

My specific work involves having 50 windows open and reading and doing some excel, running parallel windows for windows specific apps. When I'm home, I never ever want to look at a laptop unless it's hooked up to an external, so I definitely appreciate the extra real estate, but am not sure about the portability of these things.

These 16" new MBPs are 4.7 lbs + 140W charger so I do think the weight difference will be significant.
