Fresh install of mac os on new MBP?

Hi! I orderen my first ever Mac yesterday (MBP, 15", 2011 model, 7200rpm 500GB, Hi-Res screen). I've heard some people advice to install Mac OS after you receive their MBP because you would save space by removing unwanted languages and such.

Is this true; would you advice it?
