Late 2012 iMac - did a fresh install from thumb drive to Sierra 10.12.2 (followed everything to the letter) and running a Fusion drive on this old girl.

Whenever I return to my iMac, it is shut down and won't restart unless I hold a series of keys to restart it (after a quick search) or I pull the power cable and plug it back in and THEN it starts. After starting, it won't recognize the Apple keyboard that's plugged into the back... Again, unplugging and plugging back in does the trick.

Anyone familiar with this or know what is going on? This reminds me of Cousin Eddy, where if his wife uses the microwave he pisses his pants and forgets his name.

I did the SMC and NVRAM resets but haven't gone too far into trying to fix this yet, I don't want to go yanking files anywhere in the directory until I know what I'm doing. It didn't do this before on older OS, although it had it's own issues (beachball of death upon waking computer).

Thanks!
