Hi - I have a MacPro which I've bought a new drive for, and need to install snow leopard. My question is, can i just insert the disk and install or do I need Leopard installed first?.. if that's the case, where do i buy Leopard from as no where sells it anymore. Many thanks

Dexter

Duff-Man says....this has been covered countless times already - search the forum please and you'll see many threads about how to do this.....oh yeah!

Quick answer:

- If you have the $9.95 "upgrade" DVD, you need to install Leopard first, then install Snow Leopard "over" the Leopard installation.

- If you have the $29.95 Snow Leopard DVD, you _DO NOT NEED TO INSTALL LEOPARD FIRST_ (shouting very intentional). It will install Snow Leopard from the get-go on a newly-initialized drive. IGNORE any and all comments from those who say "you can't do this because it's a violation of the EULA". That means nothing -- the install will go perfectly.

'Nuff said?
