In the apple online store it says that if you order now you can have your iPod by friday afternoon. I don't understand how it you will get it by friday afternoon if the estimated shipping date is also the same day. Maybe I just don't understand shipping stuff very well but if the first day that they can send it to you is 2 days after shipping and the iPods ship on friday then wouldn't you get it next week due to business days?

apple will ship it so you get it on friday afternoon, this is just what they do. they say "we start shipping on friday" but they really mean "friday is the first day the new ipod will be available. if you order now, we will deliver it to you on friday"

I think that they are just trying to make good after the 17 alubook fiasco. They say by friday to let you know that they have plenty of them in stock and you wont have to wait for months after ordering to get it, like with the 17 alubook & the G4 iMac.

It's their way of reassuring the buyer.
