Friday Lunchtime At The Pub Thread

Well being a Friday and all today - the normal work thing of having an extended pub lunch/session at the pub is in effect for me , all though we decided to take 11am- 1pm as a lunch break is a bit weird for us(we normaly take 1pm -3pm)

but i am back in the office now and i'm sure work will fly past ready for home time , Just don't phone me up as i might be abit loud ;)

just had an e-mail saying i have a all night meeting after work - prob to talk and well bit** about our managers along with other things :D

Any one else do a Friday thing ? :cool:
 
11:55am - 5 mins to walk to the pub ready for opening time (12:00) then stay there until 1:15 - 1:30. .. just got back actually.

2 Pints of Kronenburg and a packet of Pork Scratchings ... can't beat it.

Sat in the beer garden.

Going to get Fish and Chips from the restraunt too, and seeing as its a bank holiday a early finish :D

Pork Scratchings Yuck :D i'm a Nobby's Nut's man myself :D

but i think this weekend is going to be a loooooooong one :cool: just hope the weather hold's up
 
Used to do it all the time at my last place, not so much these days. It's been a lousy summer so I haven't missed it that much. Besides I feel so tired already that if I had a drink I'd just collapse and the already painfully slow day would go on even longer.

On a nice day I do like to sit outside a pub for my lunch. Staff night out last night though so a bit hungover for it today.

Some people I work with go ice skating in their lunches every few Fridays. I am tempted to join them some time.
 
I need to move out of the US. If I came back from lunch with liquor on my breath, I'd probably get sent home or at least get a talking to. You guys are lucky!

My first job out of college it was pretty common for the workers to have a few drinks at lunch time. It was a small family owned company. Others were even getting stoned at lunch.

But you're right--it really is taboo in the US.
 
Toad in the hole and a couple of pints :D

Mind you the pubs here have taken on the American habit of giving you a 16oz glass and trying to claim it's a pint. Its worth it to go a bit farther and find the places that give you a real pint.

Yeah - same here - no drinking at all while at work. Although I have friends who have been working at my office for decades and remember when lunch with drinks was OK and even smoking at your desk was acceptable. Can you imagine working in a smoke filled office ? I'm not too keen on that - but a couple of beers at lunch would be great ! Couple = 6 or 12
 
well looks like i've got a hangover :(

and someone asked what is nobbys nuts ? and no that's not a nobs pint either lol
