Thought it would be interesting to get everyones opinion on what is going to happen at the Apple Press conference.

Be kind, these are just opinions.

First, in my opinion, I doubt a recall. I assume the press conference tomorrow will suggest there is a small section of the shipped ip4 that have a hardware problem.

I would guess that they will admit to the problem w/o directly admitting to the problem.

I doubt they will ship out new bumper cases - again, no evidence to suppor this, just a gut feeling and am welcome to being wrong on that one.

Im honestly really intrigued by the fact that they are holding a press conference about the iphone4. We don't really have much to go on other than it's about the iphone4 - has Apple said anything beyond that.

Anyways, would love to hear your thoughts

I honestly have no clue. We know there wont be any recall. I assume Apple will admit fault to this whole issue, but I have no clue what they plan to announce/offer. It'll be interesting.

Or you could not start a new thread and read the hundreds of existing thoughts and opinionsvin the other threads.

NO reason to not start a new thread - true there are tons of opinions in other places scattered about, but not all in one place. Im sure others would appreciate having a conversation about this that is coherent and not intermixed with other opinions. What's your opinion on the iphone4 press conf?

Tomorrow, Steve will tell us they found an anomaly that causes some phones to have reception problems.

I think they will offer the users an optional hardware fix (whether it's external or internal, I don't know). This kinda falls into line with their recent revamp of the "Genius" bar which is focusing on overnight repairs. You will probably be able to drop your phone off in the evening and pick it up the next morning - with a new slice of "magic" installed!

Tomorrow Steve is gonna tell us that he's taking his talents to South Beach.

I still think that the message will be, in general, this:

"The media have portrayed the iPhone 4 as having antenna issues. We disagree. However, if you are unhappy with your phone you may return it with no penalty by X date. After that date no refunds will be given."

Essentially, they're saying, if you don't like it, return it.

Just my 2 cents...

During the press conference, Apple networking will fail again. :D

On a more serious note, Apple will announce they are giving all of the early iPhone 4 purchasers an Android phone of their choice for times when the iPhone won't connect.

...or this

During the press conference, Apple networking will fail again. :D

haha. Funny.

I suspect we will see the invention of the iReach - where you never have to actually 'touch' the phone

"Boom! How simple was that?! Just don't friggin hold it! I'm eff'n Steve Jobs!"

My OPINION on the press conference is that it is overdue
My SPECULATION about the content will not change the content and is useless banter
My OPINION on the content will be rendered after the press conference

My OPINION of this threas is that is idle SPECULATION

I think a batch of iPhone's have this problem and those will be replaced with new ones. Nothing more nothing less.

I think they will say something in the lines of "FU disbelievers, do not question the Word of Jobs" and silently do revisions and inject "fixed" models into the market and to customers who complain.

I wish they just could admit that they messed up. It would make me like them a lot better than I currently do.

Oh how I would laugh if Jobs literally just said... "Hey losers, FU!"

Dear Lord - this is NOT a normal grip... it looks like he's trying to break the thing!
