One of my students unplugged the the powercord and ever since then the computer isn't working properly.

When the computer would start up it showed a folder symbol with a question mark.

I later put in the install disk seeking to reinstall the OS. Well it wouldn't give me an option of a hardrive to select. I then tried to parition, it would stop at be there for a few days.

I restarted and tried to delete the OS and install but again it would freeze.

Now when I start it up ( the install disk is now stuck in the drive )it shows the appe symbol and the screen has lines going through it and it's perpetually like that.

Any options?

get it to the closes apple repair center asap.

The inititial symptoms seem to indicate that the comp can't find its harddrive - thus an internal issue.
This might be a problematic issue at best, so get it to someone who can help and pray for quick help :)
Once you've done that it should take 7-10 days to have it fixed, or so I'm led to believe.
