Friend is eligible for upgrade with Sprint--can we swap phones?

Hey guys, a buddy of mine has an over for an upgrade with Sprint while I am a year or so away. He doesn't care what kind of phone he has as long as he can check his email/facebook. Anyway, if he uses his upgrade on an iPhone 5 is it possible that we swap phones? We are on two completely separate contracts.

Yes, but you need a separate phone in the middle to make things easier. It is possible for the representative to do the swap for you though, as i did the same thing last year with sprint with a 4s
